Boarders, Flowers and keeping strawberries off the ground.

In-between everything i had ordered some cheap decking from Edecks. This was an order of Rejected boards, nothing wrong with them for what i had planned so £1.14 per  meter seemed a good deal.

The wood admittedly sat in the back garden for a week to 10 days until i had figured out exactly what or how to use it.

First thoughts i had was how to keep the strawberries off the ground and away from the kids and the dog, cat and slugs. I put together 3 lengths into a gutter type shape, then used 4 tree stakes i had laying around to support the trough/gutter run.

To get the stakes to fit i drilled offset large holes in the base of the gutter run (at angles) and simply sat the stakes through the holes on the angles i had drilled.

I popped one end higher than the other to aid in drainage, for such a cheap fix, and the legs not actually being attached its tremendously sturdy and won't be falling down anytime soon.

I used the same decking in the construction of a raised bed for beside the patio, this required multiple lengths cut and put inside as supports to stop it bowing and falling apart under pressure from soil.
I lined the raised bed and filled with soil and compost ready to start the planting/seeding.

A few days after the raised bed was completed i was looking at a few planks of left overs and decided to put together a planter from them. It was a pretty easy thing to build, at first it had lettuce and rocket in it, now some nice french marigolds. I'm not one to have stuff laying around thats not being useful in some way or another. A big part of this for me is trying to keep costs down, i achieved the raised bed, strawberry planet and patio planter for under £100.

Any info on anything i made I'm happy to help. nothing I've done is to hard to make, mine are wonky in places but that only adds charm.
